Jesus and Gays

You have probably heard it said, “Jesus never said anything against gays”, or “Jesus taught us to love everybody, therefore we should love and accept gays”. Some people even say, “Jesus was gay”!

These are the facts

  1. Gays did not exist in Jesus’ culture. They were considered to be not just sinful, but abominable, and worthy of death as per the laws of God given by the hand of Moses. Gays were killed. There were go gays in Jesus’ culture. Does that explain why Jesus never said anything specifically about them? They didn’t exist. They were put to death, and Jesus NEVER spoke against this practice. Nor did He ever say, “Stop judging gays! We are supposed to go against the law of God, and accept them now!”
  2. Jesus is the Word of God in human form (John 1:14). This is very significant, as the Word of God was considered to be the Torah, which strictly condemned all forms of homosexuality. Jesus was in fact the very personification of judgment against the gays. But once more, gays didn’t exist, therefore Jesus had no reason to specifically preach against homosexuality.
  3. In order for Jesus to be the sinless, spotless Lamb of God who died for our sins – He MUST be sinless Himself. If Jesus disobeyed the law of God in one point, He would be considered a sinner in need of a savior. But no! He was the sinless, spotless Lamb, which meant that He obeyed all 613 commandments of God, including the commandments to be free from all homosexuality.

Leviticus 20:13 KJV – If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them.

Jesus is the Word of God made flesh (John 1:1, 14). Jesus is the personification of The Word of God.

Revelation 19:13 KJV – And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

But what is the Word of God? It was the Torah, the Law of God given to the children of Israel by the hand of Moses. And that Word is explicitly against homosexuality. It even goes as far as to say that homosexuals are worthy of death.

Jesus is the personification of that Word. There is no way He could go against it. There is no record of Him ever going against it. He couldn’t. IF He did, He would be against the Law of God. And if He were against the Law of God He would be a law-breaker, a sinner, and that would disqualify Him for being Savior.
