The Pledge of Holiness and Righteousness
As a follower of Jesus, I am committed to living a life, both public and private, that exemplifies the life of Christ in holiness, and righteousness.
To honor and exalt His Name, and keep His Name above reproach, I pledge:
1. To love the Lord with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind, and all my strength.
2. To love others as I would like to loved myself.
3. To forsake all secular music, except that which promotes true love for my spouse, and that which promotes Godly values.
4. To forsake all occultic practices.
5. To forsake all violent, occultic, and sexually explicit video games, movies, music, television shows, websites, or any other media that promotes sinful practices as outlined in the scriptures.
6. To be drug-free. This includes all street drugs, recreational drugs, mood-altering drugs, and addiction to prescription drugs.
7. To be tobacco free. The use of tobacco is one of the most destructive things anyone can do to their body. And if a person is truly born again, their body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. We must respect the temple of the Most High God by keeping it reasonably clean and undefiled.
8. To be alcohol free. I will abstain from drinking alcoholic beverages.
9. To keep our words clean. I understand that explicit language is the language of hell. Our Lord warns us to keep our language wholesome, clean, free from filth, unacceptable language and cussing.
10. To abstain from telling lies.
11. To abstain from cheating.
12. To rid myself of any board games, such as Dungeons, and Dragons, which promote witchcraft and wizardry.
13. To keep myself from all sexual immorality including masturbation, adultery, fornication, homosexuality, incest, intercourse during a woman’s menstrual period, and any and all forms of sexual impurity as defined by the scriptures.
14. To keep myself clean and free from pornography.
15. To steer clear of the love of money.
16. To keep myself free from the love of “things” in any and all forms.
